This is where we board the boat to get to Nami island, one of the most romantic spots in Korea. Another reason for this little island's fame are the Korean dramas that have been filmed here. Of which, Winter Sonata was the most popular and well known. Up to 3 million people visit Nami island yearly and perhaps about 1/3 of the visitors are tourist. I've heard that the Thais, Singaporeans and the Taiwanese people love K-dramas and thus contribute to quite a large number of visitors here.
As such, I chose foolishly to wear suede boots which were of no help against the wet snow that covered all of South Korea at this time. At this point, my toes were freezing despite the woolen socks I was wearing. I had a great time on Nami island admiring nature in winter. However, it could have been alot more enjoyable with dry and warm feet. So don't make the same mistake I made! Stay warm and prepared! Korea's snow storms tend to hit without warning and it would be better to stay warm then sorry in my case.
